The V8 ZJ one is a solid piece instead of a hollow one like the XJ's.

I think you use the heavier ZJ TRE's along with the tie-rod.

Default bent...

Look also at the 95 Grand... they have the same heavy steering as the 98 ZJ but they have part of it for the 4.0 and it's a little cheaper money wise.

Another Question. I have been looking into the ZJ tie rod upgrade. Will the ZJ tie rod fit my xj? mine is an 89 and the tie rod is 2 inches longer than the newer xjs. Or will the adjusting sleeve make it fit?

XJ
84-90 36.50" long
91-01 34.50" long

ZJ
Length?

This was from a 95 zj v8. For all the parts (the rod, adjustment sleeve, and short tie rod end) it was $112 at checkers.

thanks for the replies.
new ends are always a good idea.

i do not recommend this, AT ALL!!! if you try to bend it back, you are putting even more stress on it, and weakening it in the spot that it is bent. it's just like the paper clips if you bend them back and forth, after awhile, it will just snap in half.

X2 on the upgrade. getting a JY ZJ is a step up. Iron Rock Off Road has a solid replacement one you can get new ends with starting at $66. the ends will add another $50, but if your current ones are still good, you can just swap them over no problem.
