Old engine cut out, new engine has same issue
I have a 93 jeep Cherokee county with the 242 inline 6 engine. I had a new rebuilt engine just long block I was going to put into it but before I could the old one suddenly started to stall cut out and would crank and crank but never turned over. Before I changed the motor it had a new starter and alternator and a good amount of other new OEM parts. After I changed the engine I got a new crankshaft position sensor, ignition coil, distributor, spark plugs and wires, fuel injectors and almost everything else that attaches too it. I have not gotten a oxygen sensor. I'm wondering if anyone else has had similar issues and how it was fixed most forms on here say the ignition problem I'm having with spark either not working properly or not being there at all is the crankshaft position sensor and the ignition coil but I replace both of mine and it's still the same. The ASD relay was popped but changing that helped but not totally. Are there any other fuses or relays or sensors that could be messing up the ignition and getting spark? I've had multiple buddies with a lot more mechanic experience than me who said everything mechanically is fine but there's something that's not getting my engine enough spark to turn it over.

Update, trouble codes
I got trouble codes 33 "An open or shorted condition detected in the A/C clutch relay circuit" 35 "An open or shorted condition detected in the radiator fan relay circuit"24 "Throttle position sensor input above maximum acceptable voltage"
I'm not 100% what I should look at with those codes

Check that you got all the ground wires reconnected at the grounding stud by the oil dipstick. The black ground wire from the TPS lands there, and if the ground is missing you'll get the TPS reading too high error.

My dumb ***
So my dumbass replaced all that stuff but I still need to check some grounds that someone suggested in a previous reply. I got it to run by putting the distributor spark plugs clockwise instead of reverse clockwise stupid mistake I know. Now that it's running It's backfiring, But it's running. Thermostat went over 210 after not very long. Also the engine died as soon as I stop giving it gas. I'm hearing a hissing sound coming from the intake and exhaust manifold area. Any thoughts? My mechanic friend suggested this Check compression in every cylinder, that will tell you if it's a head gasket, check fuel pressure, that will tell you either fuel pump or fuel pump relay cutting out, backfire through the exhaust means latent timing, you may need to advance your timing a few degrees. The timing issue I expected due to everything being set at TDC and 0 degrees time. That engine should run comfortably around 7-10 degrees (high end) advanced with that RV cam. I contacted the engine distributor and rebuilder on what timing spec they put on the engine with the RV cam upgrade they included.

A hissing sound coming from the manifold area points to a vacuum leak, which would also cause the symptoms you describe
Maybe a hose is not connected, or worst case the intake manifold is not properly bolted on, take a vacuum reading and or spray engine start spray around the manifold
