Default One more Question and I promise I am done for the day.

I have a popping noise up front, usually when I turn or start to role. I looked at the U-Joints and I could tell one was shot. I replaced both but I am still getting a popping noise. Not as often as before but it is still there. My next switch would be the end-links, would that be a cause of the popping noise? Also would it be beneficial to replace with Discons?

Could be tie rod ends, ball joints and possibly even unit bearing assemblies..I'd lean more towards ball joints if it happens only when turning, but that's just me..

Oh and you can never ask to many questions..

Which U-joints are you referring to? The driveshaft or the axle shaft?

Ball joints would be my next place to look for popping. Look at the tires and if you have no unusual tire wear patterns it is unlikely to be TREs.

I replaced the Axle shaft joints. I have been thinking ball joints aswell. Those could be the problem but I have been looking at the bushings on the end links and they are all cracked up. I am tempted to replace all of the bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends and the end links but right now I want to focus on the popping noise.

Tie Rod ends or ball joints would be my next guess.

Thank you very much I will definitely look into the ball joints or tie rod ends first.

Might want to check out the sway bar bushings near the radiator. There are two big bushings held down by two bolts and they hold the main bar. Mine were totally shot when i bought the jeep and it would clunk everytime the axle was uneven, such as on turns, dips, swaying, etc.

Worth a look....
