k so i read a few articles on the topic of collapsed hoses and most said it is most likely a bad rad cap or clogged overflow line, or gunk in the overflow bottle and since the hoses are flat they prob lost some integrity and will prob need to be replaced they also said that i might as well replace the stat since ill be down there and there is prob an air bubble in the system ill fix all these issues and see if i can find a write up on how to install a temp guage so one more dumb question since coolant systems are not my forte' where is it leaking from could this vvacume cause it to leak from somewhere and where would that be also what r the 2 air valves for on the back side of the water pump ?
thanks for working with a cooling system nubie lol

Above the alternator is the a/c compressor, don't mess with it!

The water pump is located below the valve cover on the front of the engine. The lower radiator hose should be connected to it.

Somehow I've never done a cooling system flush in my life so all I can tell you is what has been told to me. Get the kind which stays in the system for 500 miles or so and read the directions.

The lower radiator hose is supposed to have a spring inside to prevent collapsing. From what I've read this spring is hard to get and it is suggested to get the ribbed flexy hose which has a spring built in.

With the hoses collapsed the first thing I would change would be the radiator cap. Get a good one, they are not much more than the cheap ones.

Default well

so i replaced the rad cap and hoses also replaced the stat and housing still had a leak figured it was not the water pump seeing as how it was a slow stady leak with out running the engine...i was right it wasnt so the idiot that had the jeep before me blew out an expansion plug and replaced it with one too small and decided rather than fixing it they would jb weld it in lol what a tool now i have to figure out how to get to it and get all that crap off any ideas i have never delt with removing jb weld before thanks for the help
