Default One of the two front left turn signals isn't working

The outer of the 2 left turn signal bulbs stopped working so I replaced the bulb and it still doesn't flash. I get a fast blinking with the left turn signal lever on and the inner of the two works fine but flashes fast. Checked all the fuses related to the turn signals, any other ideas? Wiring looks good, could a bad relay (the drivers side one under the dash) cause just 1 of 4 turn signals to not function?

Could it be another bad bulb? I've had simpler stuff happen. Swap the bulb you know is good in the "bad" socket.

I tried that, had both bulbs out of the lens housing and swapped them back and forth, I know the one is def good. Inner one works, outer doesn't. So frustrating!

Mine is doing the same but on the passenger side. It looks like the bulb is slightly dimmer than the other side as well. The wiring looks to be in good shape. I replaced the bulb with 2 other new bulbs and tried a new socket for the bulb and neither made a difference. Also, if I turn my hazards on all of the bulbs blink at the normal rate.

I'm thinking it's either a bad ground somewhere or the turn signal relay is on its way out.

Relay is under the dash / drivers side somewhere correct? I read somewhere that it's an $18 part at autozone so may as well just give that a shot if anyone can confirm a bad or dying relay would cause just one bulb to do this out of 4?

Ok, so I replaced the flasher relay under the dash (EP27) and the bulb still does not light or flash but now when the left turn signal is engaged it doesnt flash fast anymore, it blinks at the normal rate. Not a huge deal since I still have the one turn signal bulb working but any ideas what else this could be?

get a volt meter and check the bulb socket for power. If it has power check to make sure it's grounded. you may also need to clean out the socket - just make sure the lights are off when you do or you'll be replacing the fuse.

Mine ended up being a ground issue....one of the wires must have broke somewhere inside the loom so I just ran a ground to that connector from the fender.

Bulb sockets are crap on our rigs.

Checking all grounds is also a great idea.

The reason it stopped flashing fast when you replaced the flasher is because you probably bought a heavy duty flasher to replace the stock thermal flasher. Heavy duty ones won't flash fast.

Make sure your connections are clean. I needed to change one of my directional bulbs a couple of weeks ago and at first the new bulb would not work and I also got the quick flashing. Ended up being a build up of corrosion/oxidization in the socket.

Default signal not working

I had the same problem after I got my '98 Classic. After careful diagnosis I had to replace the socket itself. No big job just wire splicing,
