I was planning the same thing. Just like the hmmwv! It'll be a bear to route to the passenger side but believe me you don't want it on the on drivers.

to be honest, that is by far one of the best snorkels I've seen. I could see myself still sucking water with it though lol.

Driver's side was my plan but there's no way to get it there cuz of the wiper motor/arm/hood hinge. It's just not possible unless you use 1" tubing but that would choke the jeep.

It blocks alot more then you think when its on the passenger side. I've driven alot of hmmwv's with the deep water fording kit and when you put the little stack on it so its like a foot over the hood its really annoying. On the driver's side you'd freaking hate it. On the passenger side its tolerable.

Yeah I know what you mean. I had a snorkel on my TJ's passenger side. I could visibly see it while driving but it rarely got in my way. I designed it so it didn't block my vision but still did it's job.

The one i'm building now goes no higher than the wiper so it won't be in my view as much.

If you haven't browsed around at a lot of snorkel set ups, you'll find that a lot of TJ, YJ and Hummvees have a similar system.

I'd love to see a write up on this when you're done, as I'm always looking for great do-it-yourself modifications.

This is the snorkel Airflow Australia has just produced for the Commander.

They'll be available as of 28th July.
