And I will never buy anything that has the brand name of Duralast. From my experience, they're junk, allllll Duralast products are junk. Probably because that brand is found at AwfulZone. but hey, that's just my experience. You want quality, NAPA is probably not too much farther from you

i have bought just about every kind of battery. i've had luck with duralast, deka, interstate, etc...i've had good luck with all of them except optima. if you look back my arguement is wet cell vs optima. i'm no fanboy, more a realist.

Optima are the only batteries I can get 12 or more key on hours on while cranking tunes and working, and still have it start.

Second to that is interstate.

And, I run my 12v block heater off of a 2k watt inverter and a plug in timer in the winter....stats every morning with nice toasty heat.

Red top - pure cranking power. Great for Alaska and other cold places.

Yellow top - if you want to run many accessories. Less crank power but seems to deep cycle better.

We run both in SAR rigs - using the red one for starter and winch, and the yellow one for lights, strobes, radios and a bunch of other power hungry electronics.

Not saying it's the best one out there, but it seem to work well and cheaper than adding another alternator... I've heard people talk about Odyssey batteries as well...

I would have searched but hard to do from my phone so don't kill me.

I vote for interstate. My interstate has a lifetime warranty on it. And it was maybe a hundred dollars. How can you go wrong?

Sorry for your problems with the Optima. Have heard the same from others, but I've got no complaints. I did have an Interstate that blew its
top in my wifes car. Replaced it with a Walmart special (she was there when it blew) and never had a problem with it up until we traded it 3 yrs
later.

Paid $120 for a Duralast about six months ago for my mom's Lumina.

Not knocking either one. I've got a Duralast in my truck that's almost
five years old. The truck will sit for months on end without being cranked, but has never failed when needed.

i hear ya, some have luck, most don't though :/. i was all for trying out something i believed was better, and prolly would have stuck with there product if customer service was better. but i felt the battery went bad and i was left buying a new one at a discounted price. after the second one went bad, i was done. to each there own

Man, my dad used to work at federal mogul which distributes parts to the parts suppliers. They put the same parts in MANY different boxes. I recall him telling me they put the same water pumps in AC Delco and Napa boxes. I'm not saying everything they sell is the same as competitors but MOST of it is.
