update: Yesterday I removed the TRS, disassembled and cleaned it thoroughly with brake cleaner, shined up all the contacts, gave the springs a lil nudge of a stretch and reassembled using dielectric grease, not much.

First install, started in park, not in neutral and no reverse lights. Adjusted again, then it started in Park, starts in neutral and still no reverse lights. I determined I can live without reverse lights. They never worked since I owned the vehicle, about 2 years.

I took it for a test drive and the good news is , it is not any worse, bad news is, its not any better.

Shift symptoms remain exactly the same.

Back to square one. When I get time I want to do a full continuity and voltage check at the connector at the end of the TRS cable under hood. If anyone has specific info regarding such a check please post. Thanx

This project is on hold a bit, switched my tags n insurance to my Liberty for the winter and we have issues with the Liberty that take priority over the Cherokee for now.
