overdrive slipping?
having issues with the transmission in my 96 jeep cherokee sport. When I shift into Drive,it doesn't want to move when I give it gas, it WILL move just very slowly/sluggish especially with how much gas Im giving it. All other gears work fine and it will eventually get up to speed if I give it long enough....I have just been shifting it down to 1/2 to start then shifting up to 3 and then to D once it gets up to speed. any suggestions with what I should look at or is it shot?

Probably isnt the cause but have you checked fluid level? Low or next to no fluid does funny things..........but more then likely its time to replace or rebuild.

Do some searching for checking your TPS/TV cable and testing/replacing the shift solenoids. Based on your symptoms there's a good possibility that your 1-2 shift solenoid is out of range (11-15 ohms). Fairly easy repair but a little pricy.
