Awesome guys thanks so much! I'll be going back to the JY to tear that poor country apart to get what I need to complete it. I've always wondered what that connector did in the middle of the bumper!!

I didn't want to start a new thread so I thought I would jump in on this one. I just got back from the jy and managed to snag an ohc and dash clock. I have been researching the installation but they all seem to be for newer models. I have a '95, that I will be installing the console in to. And, the donor vehicle was a '90. I also snagged the mounting brackets and the harness; from the ohc to just under the passenger side dash. I didn't think anything of the thermostat... I guess I'll have to head back and grab it.
Anyway, has anyone gotten an older console and installed it in to a pre-'97? Every thread I have seen in regards to the ohc upgrade seem to be w/ vehicles 97 or newer. I'm looking for a little help installing this guy. Is there chance when I cut out the holes for the console that a harness may already be there? I did notice some extra connectors hanging down below the dash on the passenger side... other than the footwell and speaker connectors.

So I managed to install the console today. I had to cut and connect the wires for the lights and there was a plug there already for the 5 pin connector. Just don't have one for the 3 pin (for the thermostat). Nothing is coming up on the display; it stays blank?!?!

It's dark out but I just grabbed a flashlight the check the wires out to the 6 pin harness. One plug has 5 wires: black/blue, black/green, orange/black,blue/red and violet/green. The mating connector has 6 wires: white/black, black/orange, orange/black, pink/blue (violet?!?!), orange/green and blue. Any ideas?

I figured out how to get power to the display; I still need to pick up a temperature sensor. And the lights work, unfortunately, the map lights only turn on and off when the door is open. What am I missing? I already cannot turn on the interior lights w/ the headlight switch. Am I maybe missing a ground somewhere?

I have a '96 classic with the overhead sensor for the remote door locks, would it be possible to install the console in this spot and also a grand cherokee console?

The keyless entry circuit has a spot up inside the overhead console (for the XJ). As far as installing an ohc from a GC, it cannot be done. Well, you can install the console but it will not be fully functional.

HELP!
So, I got everything wired up; the lights work, but no luck on the display. Also, even though the lights work, they only come on when the doors are open. The map lights will turn on and off but they do not get power unless the doors open. I am pretty certain that this may have something to do w/ my headlight switch; I cannot turn on the interior lights w/ /it. I am using a '90 ohc in a '95. I got the diagram for the '90 console and the FSM for the '95. But, that still has yet to get me anywhere.
