my xj has me stumped! i have replaced the entire cooling system...radiator, fan clutch, water pump, t-stat, hoses, temp send unit, gauge, and cap. the eletric fan is coming on when compressor comes on. it is still overheating and not just slightly but to around 240. any suggestions?

Same here but keep in mind the temp sender is measuring block temp at the rear of the engine, not coolant temp.

Hi and welcome to CF. You may want to try "Burping" the air out of the motor. Sometimes air pockets accumulate in the motor which will make it run hot/overheat. I put a $3.99 Prestone T-Kit (Motor Flush Kit) in mine and it makes it VERY easy to get all the air out...Tj
