I know u had it flow checked but that don't mean crap to me so I'd lean toward the radiator... if u play in the mud mud can fill in the radiator and it wont cool properly... grass from fields... whatever... next I'd say it could be ur gauge...

The fan clutch was not a cheap one.
I haven't replaced the coolant temp sensor cause it boiling over at that point the gauge does not mean anything. And the i don't bog the thing isn't clogged full of mud or anything. But i checked it with a digital pyrometer today at the thermostat housing and gauge was pretty close.
But after calling a few more jeep dealers and talking to techs it seems more and more that my water jackets are jammed with crap a flush could not get. Or my head gasket is shot and it just has not started consuming enough coolant to be noticeable. Either way im looking for a new jeep cause i don't have the time to pull the head or motor with graduation and my graduation vacation that im supposed to be driving the jeep on.

And when the electric fan kicks in it helps for maybe 2-3 mins then starts to rise again and when i was out there with the digital pyrometer the fan kicked on around 215 and thats the right temp.

I've been dealing with the same issue new 3 core radiator open system, new water pump, new hoses,2 electric fans with toggle switch on at all times,2nd thermostat, fresh full of oil, new coolent gets hot just like urs up hills, sitting and driving slow but it doesnt overheat tho but still gets HOT i have ac but hardly run it cause it raises thetemp too and i spaced the hood helped but still very annoying and i live in az so that just makes it suck more because 107 degree weather doent help more either.

Yea i am sure if i had the time to pull the head i would find my issue but at 205,000 and original trans with no rebuild for what it's gonna cost to rebuild the motor, trans, transfer case and axles it's just cheaper to find a low mileage jeep.

if it was taken care of it would keep on going twice that... i dont think your "water jackets" are clogged... i dont think its a head gasket... i think its something simple thats being missed... head gaskets have signs... so do clogged water ports... and it takes ALOT to clog them... find someone with a BG coolant flush machine... it uses new fluid to push all the old fluid through the radiator and engine out of the jeep... my nissan dealer has one... im sure theres other machines but i always used BD's... there stuff is awesome... works great...

First of all did u replace rad cap? Second, leave it run up to about where the tstat opens, check the temp of the upper and lower rad hose to make sure the tstat is opening and the pump is pumping. I would also use your thermometer to see if u have a blockage some where in the lower part of the rad. i seen them rust out in there. Also very dumb question but make sure your fans are spinning the right direction. To check for head gasket open the rad cap and rev it up to see if u see air bubles in coolant. If there is it could be a bad head gasket. I seen them blow and just push exhaust gases into coolant, but not coolant into the motor.

he said he ran the pressue test... if it passed then the head gasket is fine... is it possible the exhaust could be clogged up causing the hot gasses to stay and heat up the motor? never heard of this and its just a shot in the dark lol... but its possible i guess... just pull the thermostat out all together... till u figure this thing out...

All the instructors at my school are stumped and only the few said the scale and gunk could be so bad the BG flush could not get it out. I drive this thing 1000 miles a weekend going from school to home and back i don't have time to pull the head and confirm it's a build up of crap in the block and head.
