Overheating issues
#32
195 is what the Haynes manual says you are supposed to use. I just replaced mine today. I used the 195 cause I was afraid I would mess up things in the computer. Any thoughts. Mine started overheating a couple of days ago. I went Thermo first cause it was cheapest fix. Topped off the anti freeze but here in the Phoenix area we hover around 100+ degrees every day till about October. Any advice. for me I have an 89 XJ 4.0l auto. BTW the idiot lights in my dash also dont work. I have been paranoid about it since when I do run it, the overflow resevoir seems to swell. I have had 2 of them spring leaks at the seams.

I use to overheat often in the New Mexico desert and mountains, I took out the factory thermostat and replaced it with the coolest one I could find(160 or 180) at the parts store, no more overheating and it still gets plenty warm during winter.
