Man this thing sounds like a helicopter trying to land!! It’s gotten bad.

Seems like you got it sorted out now. I live in Texas and high temps are a regular deal for half the year, gotta have working AC here or you'll melt into a little puddle haha. My 100 percent stock cooling system keeps me cool around town and even running AC on the trails.
I agree. I just decided to bite the bullet and replace it all. Nothings more annoying to me than the thought of “what if” when I pull out of the driveway. Does your AC move a lot of air out of the vents? Mine is blowing good cold air but the air flow is lacking. This is my first XJ so I don’t really know what to expect. The TJ I had moved a lot more air.

Maybe the wrong place (please redirect if need be). 2000 xj stays at 200 degrees (225 with ac on) new radiator, rad cap, thermostat 180 degree, water pump, hoses, new fan clutch, new shroud, and new electric fan. Engine compartment is too hot to touch. Can't drive more than 15 to 20 miles without giving it a break. Drove 15 miles on interstate (65 mph [max speed]) check engine light came on and lost oil pressure so i exited and checked oil... Level is good, oil is clean (500 miles) but maybe a little thin. Made it home. Let it sit 1 hr. Drove down the rode and CEL still on, ran sluggish but got better as i drove. 162000 miles(probably 20k in the mud and river). Thinking of crate motor but leery of spending 2500 and having the same issues... any thoughts?
