overheating/running poorly

overheating/running poorly
ok so i have a 90 cherokee 4.0 it runs like crap and it overheats now ill explain what i mean you can drive all day and it wont get hot and as soon as you shut it off antifreeze comes out of the bottle and blows every where and its making the boiling sound but no light comes on its very irritating im a pretty good mechanic but i know nothing about these jeeps and have never seen this before and same with the crappy running it idles great but while driving it stutters and bucks (missing?) and shakes with no power if you put your foot on the gas to hard but its you slowly accelerate it doesnt do it till your up at speed (here nothing is really slower than 55mph) and its hard to accelerate and that speed having that problem i have no clue so i need some help please its my daily driver and antifreeze is getting expensive i took the thermostat out and did a tune up plugs wires cap rotor air filter and i have run a full can of sea foam through the tank i seriously need help on this one i am stumped ANY info/help would be much appreciated

As for the overheating the rad may be partially obstructed. You have enough airflow until you stop. Check the fan clutch.
The poor running sounds like the TPS is out of adjustment. It also sounds like you have some vacuum leaks to deal with. After you check the TPS and adjust it, if you can't get it close then replace it.
Fill in the area about your Jeep on the User CP so that you don't have to explain what Jeep and engine, tranny etc... that you have every time you have a question. It will garner you more responses.

i have checked my vacuum lines soaped them all the good stuff the fan works just fine i actually havent checked to see if it still does it with the thermostat out but i do not know how to adjust the tps on this unit and it idles fine so im not sure how to tell if im close at all

oh and it usually doesnt boil over until i physically turn the engine off if will maintain fluid and pressure until the motor stops turning over then its all over the ground and in traffic no light comes on i really do not like the gauges in this rig its all idiot lights i want specific pressures and temps looks like im off to get a gauge setup btw blue i have been reading alot of your responses and im glad its you that found my thread

god i have to add one more thing to this just another problem i have to fuel rail pressure with the key on only when its running so it takes 10 or more seconds or cranking before it starts but then it idles fine and has decent pressure i dont know if its enough i dont have a pressure gauge does anyone know what a brand new tps runs?

I would check the catalytic converter. I had the same issue with a '91 4.0L Wrangler. Only thing that I had that you didn't mention is I had some power loss.

there is no radiator cap it has a sealed rad with a pressure bottle BUT the problem is fix with the overheating the thermostat wouldnt open so the water in the block was boiling i took it out and drove to hell and back no problems anymore with temp
