Overheating - Sudden temp spikes

Been away from the site for awhile, wanted to post the resolution to my heating issues from way back when for future reference.

I ended up flushing the system real good with a garden hose, and discovered the hose going from the radiator to the overflow tank was all clogged and gunked up. That must have been the root of the issue, as the system couldn't release any coolant and the pressure would spike all of a sudden. There was plenty of nastiness flushed out of there as well. I did also replace the E-Fan as the old one was on its last legs.

And that's it! Over two years and very hot summers and it's still keeping things cool. Definitely going to do a routine flush every few years going forward.

The Jeep is currently on jack stands being built up so I'm about to go through and replace all the cooling components while it's all apart. Came back to look at this thread for all the parts I'll need- Thanks again for all the info you guys rock!
