Default painting my bumper(silverstone metallic-PS5)

I was going to paint the rear bumper on my jeep soon but I'm wondering if the paint will match up. I have silverstone metallic paint and the jeep is a 2000 xj limited. Some time in my jeeps past it has been repainted. Is there any way to tell if this paint will match. I've got a fenderflare that the new paint is pealing off and the paint shades seem to match(new vs. old)- I actually power washed all the new paint off that flare and it still matches.

My plan is to take the bumper off and do the sanding, bondo, and more sanding routine and then get my friend to spray it(he does good work). Problem is I've heard that the new paint will be darker. I'd like to hear what ya'll think about this. Do ya'll think some new paint would match okay or will I need to take it to a bodyshop and get it blended to match? Money is tight and I'm hoping to avoid a bodyshop. I'm also not to picky about having the paint match perfectly but would hate for it to stick out like a sore thumb. I'd appreciate some comments, thanks!

I wouldnt worry man, if it is a little off, its on the bumper, its not very noticable
plus that paint will fade to match eventually

Just throw some Monstaliner on it.

Sounds like money is more important than a show-car match.

Your buddy can probably get it close enough. Or you can go to an automotive paint store and have them match a batch for you. Match the front bumper maybe?

Or, switch to black bumpers.

Has anyone painted their XJ that new flat black? If so, is it very hard? Its looks like the paint would be a little more forgiving since there is no shine.

So paint stores can match it up, that would be great. The only place I know of in my town that sales paint is NAPA, I've bought and sprayed paint (Nason brand) from them and was happy with the results but wasn't trying to match anything. Thanks for the help i'll check with them.

thanks for the help. The reason I'm going to paint(fix) my bumper is due to a big rust spot and tons of dings from loading stuff. My jeep has a dust layer and occasional mud year round so I don't need a show quality paint job-just something better than that rust spot(about 2-3"diameter). I think I'm going to just locate the right paint, see if they can do any blending matching and if they can't I'm going to just buy the factory paint color and hope it matches alright. Also going to buy some primer that's good to use with the paint. Do ya'll think I need any sealer under the primer? I'm probably gonna use some bondo from walmart or advance (cheap stuff) and don't want it to show.

Gonna load some pics of my ride soon, its stock, but I do plan on doing some upgrades soon (safari rack 1st , maybe a lift and tires when the 225/70 wear out) Already have new engine, throttle body, some sensors, and entire cooling system and this is my first jeep but I like working on it. Much simpler than my old sliverado. again thanks for help
