Default Parasitic Electric Drain. 1990 XJ

For a 1990 XJ Renix six cylinder, Laredo What ate the circuits that draw power when key switch is off?
I figure the dash digital clock, and the radio, anything else?
I want to switch off power drawing accessories.

Why guess? Doing a parasitic draw test will give you the exact cause...

If you really want me to, I'll thumb through a wiring diagram or photograph it for you.

I do have the FSM diagrams.

To save me going over pages of diagram, that is why I ask. What might be active when key off?

Interior lights are live, but should all be off when doors closed, switch off.

does the remote key lock reciever thing in the overhead console draw any power when car is off?

i think i want to add a cut off switch for these items that draw power when key off.

Have you measured the draw with the key off? Is your battery going dead after a short while of non-use?

Does yours have keyless entry? If so, that module has power with the key off as well. It's gets power from the Dome fuse. So if you measure the draw with everything connected, then pull the dome fuse to interrupt the dome lights, courtesy lights, power mirrors and keyless entry.

The '88 FSM has wiring diagrams that are a bit easier to follow since they don't "branch off" a lot of the circuits

Do a parasitic draw test, pull fuses etc

If you have an overhead console, those are known to cause it
