parking brake bracket broke off
Previous owner epoxied in floor pans. The parking brake cable brackets downstream from the adjuster are attached to the tunnel between the front and rear seats, right near the seam between the new pan and tunnel. Pulled it yesterday and it ripped the bracket right off along with a rotten chuck of sheet metal. There's nothing to weld it back on to, and pans are epoxied so I don't see any point in welding in a patch.
Thinking I should just pop rivet in a patch, drill two holes in the old bracket, and bolt it to the patch in approximately the right location. Anyone have other bright ideas?

Well, if you aren't going to replace it all with new metal welded in, that's probably the next best option.
Make sure you get rid of any rust you find in the process, or it will just do it's thing on your new patch. Two things about rust:
