My father has a 96 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4 Door 4.0L. The manual window handle just turns and the windows doesn't move up or down. It seems the gear that the handle turns is broken. I took the whole regulator out and held the window close with strong tape. The issue I am having is finding a reasonable price regulator. eBay has listings for the passenger side window from $120-$140 and that's one rusted. I haven't found any topic tutorial on if its fixable. I read that the rear window regulator will not work on the front and that each regulator is specific to each window... Basically not interchangeable. Any suggestions would be really appreciated.... Thank you in advance.

Any good toolmaker worth his salt could fix it, but probably not for much less than $100 since his time is valuable. This is the type of thing I used to do in my spare time.

Maybe you have a junkyard where you pull your own parts nearby.
I can't speak for others, but the yard I normally go to charges $11 for a manual window regulator. Eleven dollars..
See if you have any of those and hopefully they have a suitable vehicle in the yard waiting for you.
You could also search on Craigslist and FB marketplace for people parting out a vehicle and see if any of them will sell you a regulator for likely wayyyy less money than eBay.

Oh yeah that website is gold, I should have mentioned that before! I use it all the time to find stuff if the price is right.
