Passenger Side Power Window Problem
1999 XJ Limited
Passenger front window is stuck down. Driver window switch can roll all windows down/up except the passenger. Passenger window switch doesn't work either. Just replaced the passenger window motor to see if that's the fix and still no power so electrical. Checked for blown fuses and wiring within the door jam boot and all good there. Any other ideas?

All power feeds thru the driver's door module and there are diodes in all the switches so the same wires can change polarity. My printer is out or I'd post the circuit.

Here's that circuit diagram. It's hard to follow because of all the diodes.

I just realized most of those diodes are LEDs! I hadn't noticed the arrows over the top of them signifying light emitting. It's still very confusing.

The master harness is in the driver's door. It needs to be removed, the insulating black cloth wrapping removed and then each wire needs to be checked for breaks. The breaks occur where the harness bends (door jamb) each time the door is opened/closed because of metal fatigue. The vehicle connectors are located just beneath the left side front kick panel, under the hood release handle. The inside door panel trim needs to be removed, all connectors disconnected and the rubber fairlead bellows in the door jamb removed from the jamb and door. The vehicle connectors are then pulled out through the door jamb and the door connectors out of the door.
I found broken wires (98 Classic) that supplied power to both rear door windows, the right front window and the right front power mirror. I butt-spliced them (blue splices), checked and found a couple more wires that were weak and spliced them, and then wrapped the harness back up with the same black cloth tape Jeep originally loomed them with. The Home Depot has the splices and tape. If one wire breaks, all others are suspect so give the harness a good inspection. You do not want to have to repeat the exercise.
