Hmmm. I"m not sure, but I think it might run down the driver's side with the wiring for that side, then cross over at the back. Probably over the top. Since they start at teh same place, and the brake and backup lights are shared, it would make sense to run them all together and then cross.
Just a guess, though.

I'm pretty sure Mark is right. I had the rear passenger panel off of my XJ a few weeks ago and I think I rember seeing the cables go up and round the frame of the trunk but I think there is a fuse behind the passenger panel. There is 3 relays and a 30 amp fuse behind the panel on the spare tire side. It's where you'll see how the factory quite literally used duct tape to hold stuff together haha.

Yes, on the left, on a 90 anyway. Behind the panel under the spare tire. My 90 has a smaller 6 pin plug for the left taillight assembly, then for trailer wiring I found the right signal wire in a larger 10 pin connector. I assume the de-frogger and wiper ect is why the one that crosses over had more.

Dunno. Mine is a 97. Search on user CCKen here. He's got all the wiring diagrams, and it's likely he's posted that at some point in time.

On my 90, with the grey 10 pin connector apart and looking at the Jeep side, the brown middle one on the right is the right signal. (By right...mine is pretty firm in the harness somewhat vertical...in any case it's the brown one in the middle)
I gotta mention, it's the grounds on these that are usually the problem. If you run any wire you can find, from a good ground (I like bat Neg), and experiment grounding things like the bulb socket, that can be illuminating! Doing it that way rules out any (unwelcome) confusion.
Btw one in the 10 pin is always hot, that might be handy to jump from for testing.

I will be installing the headlight harness cruiser suggested on his website so I'll take a look at the lighting grounds when I install it.
