probably wont be the alarm, as it shuts it fuel pump down

thats what i was thinking also. buf i followed directions to the T today for 8 hours. even started over a couple times. i did the ole obd1 test and it came up with #12 and #55. i also have a bad hot wire connection on my distributor , plus .. i realised all the ground in the engine bay arent there. she has power fuel and combustion but no spark at all. ... ran half decent before distributor change but it was also out of timing then

a bag of issues there

The PCM provides ground for the spark (and fuel injectors)

There is 2 big studs on engine block that earth heaps of things, including PCM. They must be perfect

have you got 12V going to the Dizzy ?

are the injectors cycling, or do you just have fuel pressure ?

check & fix any bad wires

re-fit original dizzy to see if it runs, ..is it an el-cheapo "new" distributor" ?

dont know Jeep codes, they should be converted to generic OBD2 codes via Google and publish them, that will be more meaningful

presumably your '96 is OBD2..does it have an OBD2 connector near your knee, or an obd1 connector in the engine bay ?
