PCM Replacement

Im planning to buy PCM for my 2001 xj classic online from ebay.
how to know if the PCM will be compatible with my car & do i need to buy the key skim module also????

You'll likely need a serious scanner to change the VIN in that new PCM and possibly to marry other modules to it.

Might I recommend buying a new PCM from https://www.fs1inc.com/2001-jeep-cherokee-4-0l-engine-computer-pcm-ecm-ecu-programmed.html

I bought one from them a couple months ago for my 99 and it worked flawlessly. They are plug and play, pull it out of the box and plug it in. If you decide to get one from here they will program with your VIN (and skim if equipped, I believe, could be wrong about skim). You can also call them with VIN and ask what part number you should order, they can also answer other questions you might have.
