I get really annoyed with people who run the lightbars with their low beams. Especially the ones mounted under the bumper. They're great off-road, but on-road you're just blinding oncoming traffic. Fog lights too. I wish the manufacturers would stop putting them on cars because people leave them on all the time.

Most jurisdictions have a law against displaying more than two forward white lights in the presense of other vehicles, but there isn't enough money in fixit tickets for our police to give a damn about it. Written that way from the old days when highs and lows were separate lights.

In Texas, you can have a max of 4 white lights to the front. So on a XJ, you can run your fog lights full time and only have a count of 4. Obviously, you should have them properly adjusted or everybody here with hit you with their brights!
I had to check on the newer Ford F250 trucks, as it appears they run 4 headlamps and 2 fog lights but they skirted TX law by connecting the the headlamps vertically with a LED. So the law considers them as 1 headlight per side. When they first came out, I hit them with the brights and they responded in kind and I was seeing spots! Ford needs to do a better job of adjusting the lights. In most places, the LED lightbars are not DOT approved and the state boys will write them up if they are run on the highway.

I should be in the WGMG thread, but around here people drive with their highbeams on all the time. When you hit them a high flash back they don't react at all. I miss the old days when I lived in Michigan and people knew how to operate their gear. I don't know if it is the Michigan part, or the old days part. But here and now they drive 20 in a 50 if the pavement is damp in June, they go 60 in a 50 when there is snow and ice because they got 4x4, they drive with the highs on, they stop at yield signs when there is no cross traffic, they wait 15 seconds at a stop sign when there is no one else, they turn left from the right only lane across three other lanes, etc. My favorite is when they lock all four wheels and stop right in the through lane when they see an emergency vehicle 1/4 mile ahead on the other side of a physically divided highway.

Around here (North Idaho), we call those people Californians. I wish they'd stop emigrating here as they've driven the housing market and rent through the roof, literally to the point the natives can't afford to live here anymore..

Around here (California) we just call it normal. I try to not drive at night because of how bad it is. If its not the high beams being on, its the lifted trucks driving around with their 10 light bars on.

Nice to see the Philips box does not have the warning that they are for offroad use only, like all of the Sylvania automotive LEDs that I've ever found in person say.
