Hello folks, I have a few questions about my 1996 jeep cherokee SE 4.0. My jeep recently stopped running due to a bad fuel pump. I replaced the fuel pump and the jeep ran for 2 days. I parked it and tried to start it 4 days later to no avail. I am getting no spark and no power to fuel pump. I disconnected the CPS and found that I am only getting 1.85 volts to the CPS. I have checked the power to the pcm via the black connector pin 2 and 31 are getting 12V. I have had this jeep for about 2 years and the check engine light came on after I cleaned the engine bay and came back code 35 "no response from pcm after 6 attempts". After I did this the jeep started sputtering randomly but ran fine otherwise. My question is should I jump directly to the pcm since I had trouble codes for it before it stopped running?? I am at a complete loss and any help would definitely be helpful. I really need to know if any other circuits are connected to the pcm that I can test before I pull it all apart. Thank you!
