i have a 2000xj 4.0 and it recently blew up. in 2000 they switched too individual coil on plug system from the distributor setup. what im asking is how would i get a 98 motor in my 2000??? i know motor mounts and everything are the same except intake, exhaust, coil setup! how would i change from distributor too coil packs??? what should i doo with the exhaust??? and can i use the 98 intake or should i put my intake on the 98 motor??? there must be a cam sensor for the coil packs will that sensor bolt up on the 98 off the 2000 head???? 97-99 4.0 motors are very cheap with low miles and 2000-20001 are expensive with high miles thats why id like to know everything i need to doo to get a 97-99 motor in my 2000 xj!!! plz help me here!!!!

it sounds kind of simplistic but just take every thing from your from your 2000, intake, exhaust manifold, distributor, and all sensors and put them on your 98. basically all you are doing is the same thing as if you were to buy a crate engine and do the engine swap. except that you have to make the bare engine. good luck
