Sounds like TRE destruction going here. Pickle forks and air hammers, beating on tapered bolts/castle nuts with hammers..

Seriously. I just used a wrench. I feel like I did it wrong now.

Which is true, but does not show the part the OP was referring to, lol.

You're obviously not familiar with the OP. Took this guy 14 hours to replace a valve cover gasket.
I thought I was the only one remembering this...for a second I though, "please don't ask him to do a write up", lol....I also remember a multi page thread on where to put the jack stands under the XJ...

By the point that I had posted the picture. I think it was pretty obvious to everyone what the part was and where it was located. Besides, the OP didn't seem to have a problem locating it. ;-)

No, but if I didn't already know the part b/c I saw it on my own car,
there is no way in helll I would be able to see it on the diagram.
To SEE it on the diagram, you need to already know what to be looking for.

The street name vs the actual name.

The pic doesn't show the steering stab, just the drag link end of it.

Because it allows the vehicle to "track" straight down the road. Call it what you'd like.

The whole thing is there in the picture, it's just not highlighted. (Because it's not important.)

Took me maybe 15 or 20 minutes to remove mine (didn't put one back on) and it was the stock one that had been there for 21 years and 240,000 miles, little beating with a hammer and it was good.

I've finally come to terms that he's a professional troll.

This one was sort of weak, though.
