Update: I decided to pull the pan and change the RMS while also getting a better vantage point on my exhaust manifold. Oil smelled like gas. It's either running so rich it's flooding or I have leaky injector/s that bleed into the cylinders when the engine is turned off. Also some pretty gold glitter in the oil. (less than 50 miles on that oil too)
Needless to say I have other worries at the moment. I did get a good look at the manifold and I couldn't see of feel any cracks. No testing yet. Haven't been in the mood.

Hey! You have a happy ending right around the corner! My mom loved her dodge "K" car. There was no happy ending, ever, no matter what.
Stock injectors? Deka Simons whatever with metal housing? Guaranteed crap. No wonder the high HC.
There's always some metal in the pan, it doesn't come out when you change the oil. How many miles on it?

290,046! The injectors are not stock. They are DB3800's? I haven't been able to get much info on them. They seem pretty neanderthal. One big jet of gas when I tested/cleaned them.

Ok, what exactly is the short pipe coming off the manifold? I have nothing connected to it and it would seem that it's a wide open hole.
You can see it here:

The short pipe. If a crack in the manifold can screw up the O2 readings wouldn't a huge hole like that do something?
I have the EGR installed.

The one close to the O2 sensor bung is for the EGR pipe.
The big one at the front doesn't go into the exhaust manifold. It's just tacked on there just like Gee Oh Dee said..

DB3800....? wonder if that # is right. Usually get too much on google. I went with the 4 hole 703's, $8 "out the door" after allot of work. It's been rich but my 02 was crap. I believe Cruiser went with Precision Injectors and came out OK. There is 6 hole now on something I read. Nice looken manifold btw! Yea, that heated air business is the big tube to the air box for warmed air starting up....in Fargo!

I was wrong. The number for the injector is D3800BA. Google yielded results but they were just questions with no answers. They are mystery injectors.

Gassy oil is relatively normal when u get up in miles. Rings just aren't as resilient as they used to be. Did you test all your sensors yet? Could be as simple as the temp sensor not reading right keeping it in open loop. Start small man. Get your basics covered before you go tearing through it. You have oil pressure right? Glittery stuff like that can happen when bearings get way way way worn but at that point it should start sounding like a diesel if everythings is wearing fairly evenly. I have helped a coupler people with cherokees around here pass smog. On our lovely renix one sensor will easily cause it and you have no cel.
