"pop" noise turning left to right
HI
I have a 99 xj. i have replace ball joints, tie rods ends, track arm, and just today i replace the steering gear box.
i mentioned the parts replaced to narrow what could cause it. i had to have the car pushed into my driveway a while back(fuel pump) and doing this i had the wheel fully cranked turning into the drive then it popped then the gear box starting acting up leading to its replacement but the noise is still there. The steering wheel feels much smoother and with less play in the wheel. The clunk noise happens when turning the steering wheel turns back in forth louder when going from righ to left. ive found no play in anything. It wont make the noise if the tires are off the ground.
Any ideas?

have you looked at the steering gearbox spacer and made sure it isn't cracked?
have you checked the universal joints on your front driveshaft?
also have you checked your rag joint on the steering shaft itself?

welp after further inspection its my track bar were it meets the bracket. when i turn the wheel i can see it move back and forth in the bracket. i replaced this already but i did put a master pro in so what can one expect.
