Mine is 30.5" but is an older Jeep with a 242 T/C. Don't know if that helps or not.

I was planing on doing this with my jeep, how big of a lift can you use the drive shaft with? I'm using it with a Ford 9" conversion with it that would need a shorter drive shaft if used stock to being with. I plan on doing it with with about 6.5" of lift in the rear. Think it will work?

How much spline engagement do you have Creepers?? It looks a little on the short side to me for a front DS, but I could be wrong!!

the hack n tap isnt a bad idea but look at it this way, you still use the stock output shaft from your tc which is still thinner then the new one you get with porc. not to mention it dosent exactly shorten the shaft length and reduce angle, yes it is not slip yolk anymore but really not my idea of fun when you spin out the shaft and ruin your tc all together and anything else sitting around it when it goes.

am i saying not do it, no am i saying go for it, sure if you feel cheaper is better. if you have a welder why not weld that cap on the center instead of useing it as a washer. now if you do more research ford has that yolk stock and you could find it cheap at a yard in some grand marq cars. the rear yolk comes that way and you can sell your old one for some cash
