Positive or negative caster
I am trying to repair all items that might attribute to my recent bout with DW.
I have a 96 SE that has a 4" lift, 33"s, cut fenders, lockers but not geared. Got into an accident that forced my front axle 4" to the drivers side. I was able to make it home and noticing when I was home that alot was broken I knew what I needed to do to get it done.
I took out the axle and cut out the lower control arm brackets then removed the lower control arm bracket on the uni-body. I replaced the recently removed brackets all from Artec Industries as well as track bar mount. I already had a stout track bar. My upper and lower CA's werent bent from the accident. My steering box was empty by the time I got home and my right shock was bent as well.
Now since I have replaced almost everything on the front axle everything is tight and I have been driving it, but the other day I hit a bump at about 40 and my DW was back. Then it happened again when accelerating and at 35 to 40 it started again.
So one of the last things I havent thought of was positive and negative caster. How far forward or back should I go from level?

ANGLE PREFERRED RANGE MAX RT/LT DIFFERENCE
CASTER + 7.0° + 5.25° to + 8.5° 1.25°
CAMBER
(fixed angle)
− 0.25° − 0.75° to + 0.5° 1.0°
TOTAL TOE-IN + 0.25° 0° to + 0.45° .05°
THRUST ANGLE 0° 6 0.15°
This is according to my FSM. Double check your year to make sure it's the same.

I have noticed that when the front end is impacted, rubber bushings in the control arms and top of axle will split.
But first get the caster set to at least +5 degrees.
