Is it possible to convert Crysler 8.25 differential with LSD to an open differential?
Hi there. I bought a torq locker for chrysler 8.25 and it works only in an open diff. My is LSD. Is it possible to convert replacing only the carrier? All other gears and size are compatible?
Thanks in advance.

The short answer is yes... There's two different carriers depending on the gear ratio and you'll need to know the spline count of your axle..

Thanks for the answer. So if I buy a Chrysler 8.25" Bare Open Carrier Case 29 Spline, all other things are compatible with my Chrysler LSD. Right?
By the way, do you have the data sheets of these carrier?
Thanks in advance.

The good news after more investigation is that the carrier break for the mopar 8.25 does not apply for the jeep Cherokee{all available gear ratios are in range for one carrier}... So it appears if the carrier came from a Cherokee you're good to go...Now here's the thing... You're looking for a carrier that is the most common part on an XJ... I'd get one from the boneyard instead of buying a new one at 400 plus dollars... Simply swap your ring gear over to match up to your original pinion gear, set it up, and you'd be good to go... You could even sell your LSD carrier for some extra cash...
