Power/ Comfort Mode for Transmission

The color of the plastic on the connector on the computer should match the color of the connector from the wiring harness. They are keyed so you can only plug in the right computer, unless you get creative with an exacto knife. Should be grey on a 88 I believe. I think Cruiser was trying to see if someone maybe got creative and swapped in a later computer that didn't have the power/comfort option.

I have a related question.
On my 87, the switch works, the light turns on (not always, I have sometimes to « shake » the switch.).
the transmission reacts to the switch.
But the switch is very hot. Not warm, hot.
Difficult to keep the finger on it.
what would you suggest ?
(of course I could put a jumper, but I like riding with the « granny » position on.

Thats weird about the same color because both the TCUs that pulled from pick a part had red stickers on them but grey connectors. Why would that be? And my Jeep ran perfectly fine and then one day just stopped having power
