Power door lock immediately blows fuse - maybe relay?
Hey all - 95 4-door. Today I hit "lock" from the driver's side and everything locked, but I hit it once more because XJ and nothing happened but a click under the dash. From that moment, trying to either lock or unlock from either front door just made the relay click. The fuse was blown, so I replaced it but it blew again absolutely immediately - even before it moved any locks. Think maybe it's the relay up under the dash?
Plot twists: I just replaced the driver door latch with a used one, but it seems to work very well, so not sure about that. I do have a new one on the way whenever Mopar actually produces them. Also, some idiot had the doors off of this thing and just cut all the wires, but I'd gotten everything working again. If ever a door/window switch didn't work, nothing at all would happen and I'd just open or close the door a little and it would work.
The power windows are all working fine.
Anyway, trying to get to the bottom of this! Does that relay tend to go bad, and would these be the symptoms? Thanks a lot!

Saudade, how could I argue with logic like that.
I just pulled the door apart (again) and disconnected everything enough that I can pull the harness through enough to get a look at the wiring that goes through the door. There's still not a ton of room to work, but I can see where I've done a few repairs previously.
Any chance someone would be kind enough to look at this page from the FSM (I'm pretty sure it's the right one) and tell me what color wire is the power wire for "lock" on the driver's door? Since the fuse blows when I try to lock the door, seems like that would be the likely culprit. I've read elsewhere that it might be pink...but there's several pink wires and not everything on the internet is trustworthy! Sorry that I'm so bad at reading these...
Thanks a ton!

Hey all - update. I found a black/white wire stripped down to the core right where all the wires had wear from the door opening/closing, but it was so close to where I'd already soldered/heat-shrunk that same wire that I really couldn't repair it well. But, I found that the whole door wiring harness was available from Omix, so I ordered one. Those wires in there have 30 years of opening and closing on them, so this would just keep happening again, so money well spent for me. Meanwhile I just wrapped some electrical tape around the spot and replaced the fuse and everything's working again for now, so - problem solved?
