So there are several things that can cause your door locks to come and go, meaning sometimes they work sometimes you have to stretch your arms to the back doors to let people in. Also if your passenger window doesn't work, don't think it is a separate issue it might be related, this article may help.

If this is still relevant can you explain more of what your issue was? I have a similar issue in my 1999 4 door. When press lock/ unlock from the drivers/ passenger side it locks/ unlocks the hatch/ passenger rear door but that's it. The other 3 do nothing. I hear the locking/ unlocking sound. I had purchased a new Omega Proline keyless entry module and new drivers/ passenger switches. Put in the keyless entry and it works but the same doors are still not locking/ unlocking. I swapped out the passenger switch and still no change. I guess the switches I ordered were pointless. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys!!!

Thanks for creating this thread. I'm seeing the same thing with my 2001 Sport. The remote lock/unlock will work one day, then only a "click" from the passenger side door the next. Heck, sometimes it changes its mind twice in the same day. I'll give the passenger side window control unit a look-see.

I also experience random cut-outs on the horn-honk confirmation of locking. Sometimes it honks, sometimes not. Oh well.

From what I have looked up on for this cause I have a 01 that is having the same problem and from what I have found out is that the passenger side is the master cause it is the one closest to the fuse panel. I am gonna get me a new one as soon as I get paid and replace it cause I need to start using my door locks cause where I work we have had ppls vehicles broken into so yeah.. have a good day and happy jeeping..

I can tell you this much. My '00 XJ's door locks stopped working from time to time. Since the day I bought her 6 years ago.
They work like 95% of the time.
And sometimes when they don't work they do again quick. I could out get of the car to run into the store and they don't work.
Come back out and they do. One time I think they did not work for 3 days.
So I would hear a click on the passenger side. Which kinda of lead to believe that it is not wiring.
Well I have extra parts. So I threw in a different passenger side control. Worked for about a month.
Tried another one. Thinking that was 4 to 5 months ago and it has worked all this time.
Hesitant to claim victory cause I could go months and not have a problem.
Plus I am putting used ones in. So I don't really know the condition of the control, if it is the control, or the problem is something else
and just decided to present itself at this time.
Hope I did not jinx myself. LOL.

My 01 did it when the wires in the boot to the rear hatch started to short. It was intermittent like that for a while until finally it started blowing fuses. Just another place to check if the new switch doesn’t fix it. And now I have an SE model with manual locks so please quit your whining about having to manually lock/unlock the doors. You sound like my wife. Lol. And manual windows too. Luckily I can put the windows up and down from the driver seat while driving. The one thing that most annoys me is having to remove the key to unlock the liftgate. Especially if the Jeep is running.

Sure there is some shipping involved but poking around you might be able to do better.

I found suppliers with the factory part cheapest was 79 bucks, called Dorman and as you said they only do the front... Just need to bight the bullet as the lock portion is toast.

So I read all of your messages and nobody knew the answer, mine was pretty bad, not only did it click, but it locked and unlocked on its own and the trunk would do this rapidly. I usually would just punch my passenger door and it would stop temporarily. Today I fixed the problem. I took my passenger door apart and took the switch panel off and took it apart. If you look inside, on of the nodes are bent and it is just barely touching itself. I straightened it back out and all my locks work perfectly fine now. If anybody wants further details or help fixing it my number is 9108060401. You guys wasted lots of money.🤙

When i disconnect the battery and reconnect the key fob and door master door lock works. After a while the both quit. Also the interior lights dont come on when starting car but work fine off of headlight switch
