Default Power locks

I've researched and cannot come up with anything that is really what I'm looking for. My 99 XJ power locks do not work, I can hit the unlock or lock switch and all I get its a click from the passenger front door. All the wiring in the doors has been repaired so I know nothing is broken, I understand power is sent throne passenger switch to lock the rest of the doors but I am not 100% sure? Just looking for input on what you have all done to resolve thank you.

exact same thing is happening on my 98. I just never did anything yet so I'm subscribing to this.

Im having similar issues with my 97, except it only works intermittently after I push the buttons a bunch of times.

I had a little of all of these problems (click from passenger side, intermittent working then nothing.) I replaced the passenger side module with one from the junkyard, got lucky and it works now. I need a new drivers side too because my mirror adjustment and window locks don't work.

When you say module are you talking about the switch or the electric door latch assembly?

the switch, not really sure what to call it since it's more than just a switch.

Yeah, I tried one extra one I had but that didn't do anything. Any other suggestions before I spend $50 on a new switch?

If all your wiring is intact and not broken at the door junction, and your hearing a click at the passenger door. It's time to replace the switch assembly in the passenger door. Problems with windows, driver side switch assembly. Problems with locks, passenger side switch assembly.

Well I ordered a new switch online. Everything else works except power locks. I'll post back with the results once I get the switch.

Replaced the switch and everything works again! Here is the switch I bought on eBay.. I know it's not MOPAR but it has a lifetime warranty.

It's a cold solder problem common to the 97+ XJ door/window control modules. You can buy a new module, or open up your existing one and fix it. I haven't done mine yet but am planning on it. The solder joints on the board bust loose, so all you have to do is hit them with a soldering iron till they flow again and you're good.

Nope. That's not the issue that's described. That's the drivers switch that you showed. The power for the locks is distributed through the passenger side control switch. Which I replaced, and is now working.

One of the banners that come and go on the video says that the video is for a power window problem, but it is the same issue and repair process, just on the passenger side module, if its for locks. I am having the same problem on a 99 and plan to give this a go tomorrow.

Both boards have a similar design style and failure mode. As such, the fix applies to both boards.

Much easier to replace the switch with a lifetime warranty vs cutting the back of the switch solder
