power seat electrical issue (smoke filled cab)
Hey guys,I was hoping you could help me figure out this issue. I went to get in the jeep yesterday after work and the cab was full of smoke. I noticed the red and black wires that run under the seat were completely melted at the plastic clip and it looked as if the wires grounded themselves out on the seat bracket mounting bolt. I noticed while driving home that the console lights for the gear selector (PRND) was on even though my headlight switch was not pulled out. Once i got home and shut the jeep off the console lights for the gear selector remained on. I noticed while I was trying to clean up the ends off the wires the light went off. I re-attached the red and black wires using clips and the seats would not work however, when I would press any switch on the seat controls the gear selector console light would come on. Is it grounding itself out? Do I need to be concerned with anohter fire? Please any help is appreciated I really have no clue on this electrical stuff. Thanks!
