Default Power seat wiring help

I have a 1992 cherokee limited with power seats, but they do not work. I have checked the circuit breaker and its ok. I have also connected the seat directly to a spare battery and it was operating fine, so it has to be a wire somewhere.

Since both seats don't work, the cause must be a central wire somewhere, so I would like to avoid stripping the floor covering and ask if anyone knows where exactly do the wires split to left and right seats as well as the towing wiring harness (also no power there). That will allow me to keep the floor covering and just look at the place where the wire is most likely bent or disconnected.

Start at the driver's seat and start tracing toward the fuse box.

I realize this is an old post but I have the same problem and don't wish to tear up the carpeting either. I've connected a circuit breaker at the battery and routed a wire into the interior. I would like to find the connector where the power door locks and seats is, to connect it to. Does it run underneath the console? All I've found under there , so far, is the wiring for the power mirrors and auto shifter lamps.
I've found several of the same problems in the search. Did anybody take pics or take notes?

I have a '91 Cherokee Limited, 4.0, auto trans.

Nobody remembers what they did or how the wires were routed? I hate to start cutting up my carpet to trace this if its unnecassary.

Carpet is easily pulled back with front seats removed, four bolts each.

There could be chafing or melting of wire harness underneath carpet, worth a look. Here is an image of main wire harnesses in the cab. May need to do an image search for harness routing of power seats.

THANKS! Any chance you'd have a link to a bigger copy of that image?

That came from google image search 'cherokee xj wire harness inside cab'. Maybe try 'cherokee xj power seat harness'. May need to add the term 'diagram' or 'routing'.
