Power steering pump pulley
the big question; can you reuse the pulley??? I would like to if I can remove it, but did not know if it was possible since shaft is round and no key to hold it in place. The old one is in great shape, is the main reason I want to reuse. Also, one less cost.

You can rent the pulley tool remover and installer from Autozone. The pulley presses on and off. Make sure to take note of the depth of the original before you remove it, and then match that depth when you install it again.
I would buy a new one, though. They are cheap, so why risk it breaking and ruining your new pump.

That was pretty much the answer I was looking for. Picking one up at Autozone in the morning. I appreciate it

As long as you use the correct puller to remove it and reinstall it then your good have done it hundreds of times over the years just myself. No need to buy new unless your old one is broke or bent or damaged in some way!

RockinRonnie, that’s what I was thinking of doing, but for $17.xx for a new one from Autozone, I just went for it.

Steelybill, that was my main worry. Then when I played hell getting the tool from o’reillys that was in good shape, I didn’t even try to pull the old one.

I used the old pulley on mine. I have a puller but the pulley was stuck on the old pump so bad the puller wouldn't pull it. I heated it up and it slid right off of the old pump and on to the new one, then it was tight after it cooled down.
