Default Power steering question

Two questions actually.

We went away for a week and the Jeep was parked with the front wheels turned all the way (as though it would spin in a circle). Today I noticed a new leak in the front end and it looks like the power steering fluid reservoir (which is directly above the stain in the street) looks wet at the bottom. The fluid level is just above 'add'. So - does the orientation of the front wheels have an affect on the pressure on the power steering system (when parked) ?

Question 2: I've been (casually) trying to find a small evap leak for years now. Most recently I added some teflon tape around the evap test port connection. The light still comes on but much less frequently. I would like to replace that whole tee which holds the shrader (?) valve with just a piece of rigid plastic. Anyone know what diameter tubing I should search for ?

Thanks.

Edit : Or how about the specs for the schrader valve ?

The power steering system is pretty simple. When I have had leaks, it's been from the high pressure hose that goes to the top of the reservoir. The line that connects to the back is the low pressure return line. You can replace just the reservoir if you needed to. It is held on with two clips that can be knocked out with a hammer and screwdriver. The easiest way to find a leak is to wipe everything down and then have someone turn the steering wheel back and forth while you look for where the fluid is coming from. Word of warning if you try to remove the low pressure line connected to the reservoir. Be very careful when removing that line. The line will fuse to the plastic and the plastic will break before the line will come free. I slice the line along the length with a knife an then peel it off.

No idea on #2 as I have never messed with that.

Thanks.

I found this image on ebay - the top of the tank is dry. To me - it looks like the leak must be in the tank itself because the area that is wet is in that C-like crevice near the bottom of the tank and the motor itself (and the small hose at the bottom of the tank looks dry as well.

So at this point - would the wise thing to do be to replace the motor and the tank (and maybe some hoses) ? Or just try to find a tank if possible ?

Man - for us this is the year of the Jeep. If I were to tell you all the repairs we have made in the last year you would not believe me. But she is our little baby :-)

Edit : I just watched this excellent video. Maybe all we need is a new O-Ring where the tank meets the pump ?

Edit Edit : Can anyone speculate what the specs are for that O-Ring ? Thanks

There are Orings in the pressure line and tank to box. Both are easily replaced
