Power window issue
I have a 2000 Jeep XJ and the Front Passenger window is not working correctly. I also have a 1999 Jeep XJ as well for testing and parts swap, this what I have done with no luck:
1. I swapped the controls from the 99 to the 00 and no luck, I tried the controls from the 00 on 99 and it works.
2. I swapped the motor from the 99 to the 00 and still no luck, I swapped the 00 to the 99 and the motor works.
3. watched a youtube video and spliced the yellow and tan cable together from the driver side kicker panel and all my windows work from their own panel except the window in question, but the motor works going down only now.
4. swapped the driver controls from the 99 to the 00 and still no luck, but I tried the controls from the 00 on the 99 and it works.
So my question is, what else is there to check? I assume I have a wiring issues or even a relay issue, but really cannot find anything on this, is there anyone here that can shed some light on my issue?

UPDATE: I found out that the UP wire to the front pass window was cut off at the door jam leading to the driver side panel, I rewired the cable and now the motor works both ways.....I hate wire issues.

I have a '99 and the front passenger window motor will not operator from the passenger switch (sometimes). It always works from the driver switch. I'm wondering if I have a similar issue with a loose wire or bad connection.

have you tried the other windows, I think your issue is the window lock button is going bad on the driver side controls, test next it doesn't do anything by wiggling the toggle button.....you may need to splice the yellow and tan cables together at the kicker panel on the driver side to bypass the auto locks or re solder the connections.

Power windows driver side control panel circuit board
Solder traces on the control panel's circuit board potentially crack, switch or switches work intermittently.
The fix is to re-solder the solder traces on the circuit board.
__________
Another problem potentially exists with the toggle switch.
With use and age, sometimes the drivers side power window toggle switch starts to work intermittently and eventually stops working altogether. You would need to try to repair the toggle switch or replace the entire driver side switch panel assembly.
PIC of similar toggle switch

Finally, I was able to determine that the rear windows also do not work when the front passenger fails. I jockeyed the lock button but no change. So it seems to be broke in lock position. It's no big deal for me as I seldom have passengers. I guess I'll wait to look into it.
