see if you have power to the switches. if you don't, check the plug behind the kick panel, see if there is power there.

You'll probably want to get one, or at the very least a test light. Coming from someone who worked their way through a number of typical XJ electrical issues, they're sort of notorious for electrical problems.
VOMs and test lights are cheap when compared to taking it to the shop.

Need more to TS...
The way the circuit looks, it would be unlikely that front and rear driver side switches would fail at the same time... It's more likely that the two switches in the driverside door would go because of water damage or abuse.
It's a critical TS fact of weather or not the rear switch still works??? Make sure that the lockout switch is not on and try the rear window switch in the back door...

The way the circuit feeds this... Pretty much a givin that the DS front window switch is bad, not the wiring.
The rear window motor gets power 2 ways:
I have had good luck with reusing the clips (that don't get away) by lightly crimping the hooks that hold them in place.
The rear window motor gets power 2 ways:
- From the front DS window switch through the rear DS switch. (If the window functions normally from the rear switch, the front DS switch for the rear window is likely bad)
- From the lock out switch (vio/wht wire) in the front DS door to the rear DS window switch. (If the rear DS switch will not work either, that switch is likely bad or the wiring from the door jamb to switch or switch to that motor)

on a serious note
i didnt see anywhere if you know for sure if your motor is good , unplug the motor itself and going into it there should only be 2 wires , get a good 12v source , either a battery or a jump pack works great , make 2 wire leads , hook them up to the 12v source and touch the prongs for the motor and see if the motor works before going and tearing thru all your wires in the door , this will proove for sure if its the motor , if the motor works then you have wireing issues elsewhere
