Procomp springs are actually longer springs, so you get more travel out of the lift, and I switched out my shocks for procomp shocks and got a much softer ride on highway and off road
my 3" lift RC coils where longer than stock

every lift coil i have come in contact with was longer than its stock counterpart.

and coil spring stiffness has little to do with the amount of travel your suspension has.

and for a wheeler most would agree that a firm controlled ride prevails over a loose soft ride

I have a pro comp setup on my jeep. it was a 3" and i then added spacers and shackles for more clearance. the pro comp 3000 series shocks suck, they are stiff, and were too limiting (i maxed them out when flexing in the rear). also, i had a friend with them on her tj, and they broke the mount pins in the rear. as for the front springs, they are ok, and i mean just that, ok. i have an olympic bumper with a smittybilt XRC8 winch, and it's sagging pretty bad. it did sit just about level before the winch. for the price it's a great start, but you will see down the road that you will end up swapping certain parts out for better ones.

i run the rear leafs and got about 4 inches out of them but they are pretty soft so i am sure they will sag down to the 3.5 inches very fast but over all it was a good price and good product so i say

I dont know that might just be with skyjacker lifts but I know my lift springs were the same height as my stock springs and from what I've read alot of 3" are the same way so I didnt figure it was a problem. Also my xj is my dd so I'm looking for a softer ride on the highway and in town, not to the point of being squirly, but I dont want my jeep rattling apart either. I have to agree with fixitman on the 4.5" rc lift tho, I wish I would've found that deal while I was searching and e3ncourage anyone looking for a lift to jump on it

work carries pro comp - assuming the kits you get in the USA list the same as here, whoever does the ordering specifies the shocks...if they dont fit, or max out, its an order problem, not a 'kit' problem ( and in all honesty, we had one counter guy who couldnt figure this out, too.) also, get at least the 9000 series shocks - almost no difference in price to the 3000's, and the gas charged are WAY better.

ditto for weights - if you can get a look at the full line pro comp catalogue, theres a section in the back that lists the actual spring dimensions, and rates.

also saw a comment on handling ... I'm running the pro comp 20" free length, 175 lbs per inch coils, with 9000's ( 5.5"TJ lift coils) , and even coming from a euro sedan background, handling is fine ( better than I was expecting to be honest) depends on where you run though...around here, only 'mud' guys favor stiffer setups, while the trail / crawler rigs go for soft ride & flex, with disconnects for on road. each to their own ... just find out what works for you.
