Default Problem!! Help!!

Hi ive had my Cherokee for almost a year and im new to the forum....love the forum!

Jeep is a 89 cherokee laredo...4.0...aw-4. Heres the problem...when i start it everything seems normal at first...then it slowly idles down until it dies. I can keep it running by givin it pedal....and after a minute it will stop and run fine. Then you shut it off and it does it all over again when you start it back up.

Ive replaced the idle air control valve.....changed the throttle position sensor and adjusted it...changed the map sensor....changed the temperature sensor...changed the egr valve...unhooked the battery and let it sit for a few days and hooked it back up....nothing.Anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions? Knock sensor? Crank position sensor? Any help would be great!

Thanks!
Slim

I don't know friend. Try cleaning all your grounds and the connector below the wiped fluid bottle?

x2.

also try looking for any vacuum leaks. might as well run a compression test too. you can rent the equipment from any autozone.

Try simple stuff like checking for vacuum leaks. Spray around the intake with throttle body cleaner. It never hurts to do this every 30,000 miles: with the engine cold, snug up all your intake manifold bolts working from the center out to the ends. They have a nasty tendency to loosen up over time.

Ground refreshing is ALWAYS a good idea on a REnix Jeep. Over at the engine dipstick tube stud are 3 CRITICAL grounds for your fuel injection system. Remove them and scrape, clean, polish til shiny all connectors and the mounting stud. Reinstall securely.
Remove the bolt holding the braided strap from the driver's side firewall above the brake booster. Scrape the paint off under the strap and reattach.
