i never done the power steering but if you soak all the fluid up with a rag .. there might be a nut in the bottom of the res. to loosen up and take off

I would take the whole thing off. Its actually a very quick procedure. Might be easier to work on a bench then in the engine bay. For your question, I'm not sure how to remove just the reservoir or even if you can.

i don't think you can do it in the jeep. it is not hard to remove the pump, and to replace the resevoir. most new pumps don't come with the resevior. i may have a resevior for it to, did you find a replacement.

Yea the reservior was 26 bucks at oreillys auto. i pick it up in the morning. So i just take the 6 bolt off the pump and remove it, then the reservior just comes off?

If it were me I would just start taking it apart after this much thought. You will probably know soon enough if it doesn't come off. Again, why don't you just take the whole unit off? Then you can do a bit more inspecting to see if the reservoir can come off by itself. Then you'll know for sure for future references, as well as letting us know if it can be done.

Easier to replace res. with pump out of Jeep.
On each side of the assembly there are two clips.
These clips SLIDE on.
In the center of these clips there is a little tab that locks them into place.
Pry up the tab.
Tap back clip with hammer and screwdriver.
Wiggle res while pulling upward.
There should be a rubber o-ring between the res and pump.
