Push Button ignition,extra green wire?
Previous owner installed a push button ignition button,im trying to make a bracker for it some how to screw into dash so it just doesent hang. Their is a extra green wire hanging down with it,the end i moved it touch metal and made a spark.. what is that green wire? Must be live if it made a spark? Im not a wiring major, just basic backyard redneckin fixer.

Not sure what that wire is for. You do need to wrap the end with electrical insulation tape so it does not short and cause problems. You may need to trace the wire to see where it goes. It may be a previous owner idea.
As for a switch bracket, I made one for my diesel truck push-pull fuel cable. I just used an L shaped piece of metal with 2 holes. One to screw to an existing screw on the bottom of the dash and the other to hold the cable. You may be able to fabricate something similar.

There doesn't need to be more then 2 wires on your push button.
Here is the way the are hooked up on my jeep and my 240sx.
1 wire runs from the + power cable hook up on the starter to the back of the push button.
1 wire runs from the other side of the push button down to the starter signal wire on the starter.
thats it all you need is the 2 wires. If there is a 3rd wire then the Previous owner had something alses running off of the pushbutton power that he must have unhooked somewhere along owning the XJ.
Hope that helps,
Matt
