Putco Harness and Daylight Running Lights
I have been doing a lot of night driving lately so I went out and picked up a Putco harness so I could actually see where I was going. The install went simple enough, but my DLRs are so dim that I would get more light trying to keep a candle lit on the bumper while driving.
I just need a way to trigger the relays with full power instead of the reduced power the DLR module delivers. I don't mind having my DLRs running at full power as it is no different than turning on the headlights any time I drive like I am doing right now.
Would it be possible to trigger a relay with the lower power of the DLR signal that will in turn provide the required voltage to trigger the Putco relay? Or is there a relay that can cover both the low voltage DLR signal and the higher voltage of the headlight switch?
I asked for help on this in the international section, but am not getting much traffic there so I am posting here now. For those that don't know DLRs are the headlights run at 30% power when the vehicle is moving, but turning on the headlights overrides the DLR module and you get full power to the headlights. They are required by Canadian law too. I have been searching for the answer everywhere, but have had no luck. All I have been finding is the fog light and both high and low beams staying on together. I have no fogs and my high/low beams work fine so those solutions don't not fix my problem.

why not keep your headlights on?. I removed my DLR module when I added my Putco harness because the relay didn't like the low current. Made the relay buzz. I know it's the law but Knock on would I don't get caught. I keep the module in the glovebox.
