Question about a potential problem with my 92 Cherokee Limited...
Hello, I recently bought a 1992 Jeep Cherokee Limited. The other day when I turned my steering wheel to the right and began to turn around so I could get out of my drive way, there was a loud scraping sound. It's still doing this whenever I make alot of right turns. If anyone could help me out that would be fantastic. Sorry if this seems a bit odd, I'm only 17 so I don't know much about cars, haha.
Thank you,
Ben

First off, welcome to the site! Secondly, when you say you "recently" bought this Jeep and "the other day" how close are these two time frames? In other words, has this been happening since you brought it home or have you had for a little while before you noticed the sound? Also, have you been wheeling it at all? If so, it may have been something that happened on the trail and you just didn't notice it til you got it back on the street. Need more info to determine what the sound is coming from.

Welcome Ben. In my experiences, have a friend drive your Cherokee in a wide open space, with nothing to get in your way. Parking lot etc. Have your friend turn your wheels to the right all the way and reverse and drive past you (slowly and safely)while you listen for the noise. This will help you approximate the source of your sound.
Have you added larger tires?
Is there any loose tupperware near your wheel wells?
Is the neighbors cat caught up in anything?

Ya check the tire and see if its rubbing in the fender well. Also is could be hub bearings making the noise too
