Default Question on aux fan diagnosis/ replacements...

I have an aux fan issue. When I ground it out and try to make it turn on when I want it to somtimes it spins and sometimes it doesnt. So today I popped the hood and it wasnt spinning, so I spun it with my hand and she started to roll. This leads me to think the fan is going bad, right? This wouldnt be a relay issue, right?

Also, what years STOCK aux fan will drop in? 97 plus? Obviously I want the more efficient newer style fan over the older one. Lastly, is there any good replacements that can fit where the stocker went? I dont mind about modding, but I havent really found a " direct replacement " that everyone uses with ease.

If you can start the fan by hand, then yes it is going bad. Rock auto had the best price when I replaced mine. 10 minute job.

Im going to be doing a complete cooling upgrade, so what a better time for the fan to **** the bed? haha

What about these?http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-10...1b9d70&vxp=mtr I know I know, but 24 bucks? 1500cfm? Even if its 1000 cfm its still 500 ( stock is 530cfm ) more cfm than stock.

This one too, just "s" shaped blades, but oddly they both pull the same CFM lol

I would stick with an OEM style replacement for better mounting and plug n play simplicity. There relly isn't a need to pull more cfm, and possibly more amps.
